I want to do some shooting but can't find ammo reasonably priced. and I'm not dipping into my stash....

I've already picked up 900 rounds of Blazer Brass 9mm at WallyWorld this week: for $8.97 a box of 50... limit 6 boxes a customer a day. Going to go there in a few minutes to see if I can pick up another 300 rounds... then, I'll have enough brass for reloading afterwards. :565:

Walmart didn't have 9mm for AGES! A second local WallyWorld still doesn't have it (had been planning to buy at both stores each day). :no_ma:

I think the "rationing" at six boxes is helping. Also, IMHO, the supplies are slowly trickling back in.

It's AMAZING that gunbroker and such auction places have speculators trying to auction off WWB ammo at double and triple the price! Guess if you're not patient, you'll pay more than the ammo's worth!

I've also started picking up small pistol primers here and there (at local and boondock stores) for 3-1/2 to 4 cents a piece. Patience and hunting pays off! Expect to have a "LOT" by the end of this week... enough to last me "forever."

At this stage of the game, I think patience still rules... maybe next year higher prices might be justified... don't see it now.

ADVICE: cut back on shooting and "fun plinking," ... only serious practice or hunting.... Be patient, explore... and get it when it shows up. It's there... just not as plentiful or widespread... but no need to overpay from fear! :36_1_30:

Uh, the Apple trees take in Carbon Dioxide and emit Oxygen as part of photosynthesis. It's all the pesticides we use to get the beautiful spot free wax fruit on the shelf at the grocery store that isn't the best for the environment.

But back to ammo, I've been finding most ammo in small quantities at wally world. You have to learn where and when to look. It's a bit like hunting I guess - stalking your prey.

The only 380 out by me is $38/box of 50. I'll shoot less at that price. Wait till congress puts a tax on ammo. That $38 will probably go to $48.

Oh, no, the communist-fairies love apples, they're low calorie foods....the next thing the communist fairies will do (after they get rid of alll those awful guns) is ban fatty foods, they've already taken the first step towards this goal here in the Peoples Revolutionary State of MA....larger restaurant operations here are now required by law to post calorie information on ALL dishes they offer, which is costing them thousands of dollars, since this can only be done by having foods anlayzed....it's only a matter of time before Uncle Osama tells us what we can eat, where we can live (most of us will probably end up in state-run housing units when the economy finally crashes), what doctors we can see (hello, universal healthcare), and what we can/cannot teach our children (ala, gay rights / hate speech laws)....

22LR's are the exception! Pull on the trigger as fast as you can, as many times as you want (after reloading your mags!) :s1:

P.S. Personally, having less than 15K, and what with a tight budget for groceries... I'm also "stingy" on how much 22lr I use.

It may be costing thousands because people eat less but not because they have to have the foods sampled by labs. They use ingredients to make the food; ingredients which have already been analyzed and the caloric data is already available for. Just as you and I can make a meal at home and calculate the nutritional information of that meal in a few seconds by reading the information from the ingredients used.

I know what you mean. I have a .22lr Davis Derringer over and under, a North American Arms Mini Master that fires .22lr & mag, a Walther P22, and a .22lr conversion kit for the AR. The AR eats 'em up fast for sure but, I always take the others to the range to help me pace myself. I probably only burn through 200 rounds or less of .22lr any time I make it to the range.

Just to stay on topic here and also help confirm what others have already said, the ammo is out there at a somewhat reasonable price. True, WW may be sold out 19 times out of 20. Try calling some other brick and mortar establishments in your area (even if they are 20 miles away) and see what they have. Most people these days only look online and at WW. They are eiter too lazy to make the call/drive or they figure places like gun ranges will be way over priced and simply don't bother. Seek and Ye shall find.
